Black Butter asked us to pitch on an animated music video for ‘Alien Girl’ from J Hus’s critically acclaimed album ‘Beautiful and Brutal Yard (B.A.B.Y)’ The original suggestion was to have either a different colour palette or grade to the same performance. At this point, our heads exploded. We thought about two entangled hearts on two worlds making the same journey in sync with one another. One sexually repressed boy in a world of anxiety and brutalist visions and a sexually free alien girl in a mirror world of positive pleasure. They’re horny and strung out and can feel someone out there to make it with. They make a long fantastic walk to find one another - then spawn a new world into existence. Same shots, same actions, same edits. Two videos. …and because we couldn’t help ourselves, we pitched that.
We worked with our friends at PARTIZAN on the production and PSSSSD LABS have created a website portal where you can watch both videos simultaneously and make your own edit.
